Now that university is over and I have 3 months to spare why dont' we hold some sort of retro tournament: hi-scores, best-times etc.
It could be a league format (for example 10 people in the league, the person with highest score gets 10pts down to the lowest getting 1, play for 6-7 games), knockout (lowest rank for that round gets eliminated, last man standing), or bracket tournament like the ones in the CB Arcade Tournament.
Ideas = Super Mario Kart/F-Zero fastest lap time for specified circuit, highest score on a single credit in Contra, distance clocked on a single life on Gradius, some Double Dragon/Streets of Rage/Ninja Gaiden-based challenges, etc etc
Games would be played on emulator, no save states, screenshots, basically that competitors aren't cheating would be taken on faith unless someone can figure out a way to do it that 100% prooves the legitimacy of scores.
Input ideas interest and etc in this thread, please and thx :rodney
